To use when lighting your soy candle for the first time the first burn is the most important. Always trim your wicks to 1/4 inch before lighting. On the first burn let candles reach a full melt pool which should be 1/8 to 1/4 inch deep which will allow the fragrance to disperse more completely into the room. A proper melt pool the wax has been heated long enough to reach the edge of the container. Burn one hour for every 1 inch in diameter of the actual candle size, allowing the wax to liquefy or to melt from edge to edge of the jar. Never burn more than 4 hours at a time. When wick trimming, you should always extinguish the flame, let the candle come to room temperature, and trim the wick before relighting. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
